This was the 5th one made from scratch and has and Indian rosewood fretboard on a one piece field sycamore neck. The body and bookmatched top is also Field Sycamore and has a spalted grain and flamed figure.
The wood for this project again was supplied by David Dyke luthier supplies and is sustainably sourced in the UK.
The pickups have been wired with a 5 way selection and features the usual 3 positions plus the neck, neck and bridge half out of phase options. This really does add something to any 2 pickup guitar and sounds great.
This guitar was made for a very happy customer but can be made to order to the same specifications.
This was the latest prototype guitar built from scratch. It is my first guitar using an Ash one piece body and bolt on one piece Ash neck, which is slightly figured.
The book matched top is spalted and figured field Sycamore, supplied in an unsawn state from David Dyke luthier supplies and UK sourced.
The fretboard is again quarter sawn Ash with a slight spalting and a matching headstock veneer the in field sycamore.
The Ash was sourced by myself from a saw mill just outside of Whitney-on-Wye, which was sustainably sourced. It came in the form of a 6.2 meter plank, which I still have some in stock!!
The Ash for the neck came from Queen Hill just outside of Upton upon Severn and was pretty much the last piece.
This guitar I have and will be keeping, but I have made and all Ash version which will be similar and the first available of that version for sale.
I've been given this recently, a rather beat up travel style guitar as it came in a big carrier bag!! Pretty much done in to be honest. It could be repaired but the effort and time would be to much to cost. The overall quality of the guitar is probably not worth it which is a shame.
